Four Seasons St. Louis
The main source of inspiration for the Four Seasons redesign was the City of Saint Louis itself. We wanted to embrace the city’s celebrated monuments, including the Gateway Arch, Mississippi Riverfront, historic Ead’s Bridge, and Laclede Landing. We wanted the guests to feel the ultimate relaxation and comfort and to make sure there was a sense of continuity through the hotel, from when you first set foot in the lobby, all the way up to your room. Location is one of the biggest factors in this hotel. No other hotel in Saint Louis has the views that the Four Seasons has. We wanted to highlight these by selecting soft muted tones that complement the landscape while also creating a relaxing luxurious experience. The integration of local design aspects allows for guests to connect to the city and have a unique stay.
In the Motor Lobby, we moved the concierge desk to the center of the lobby, under a new decorative chandelier feature. A local ceramicist installed a custom piece behind the main reception area. Bespoke furnishings, lighting, and soft seating, as well as a custom Axminster inset carpet defines the Lounge Area. We also incorporated one large seating area at the opposite end of the lobby.
The 8th floor Sky Lounge is a multi-purpose space which we enhanced by activating a non-guest area while maintaining the ability to use it as one large space. Used daily by guests, the fireside dining area is meant for small groups to be able to have pop-up meetings. In the evenings, it is used as a private dining room, accommodating up to 30 diners at one long community table or a collection of 2 and 4 top tables. The rest of the lounge will be filled with comfortable lounge chairs and plush sofas.
In the rooms, we custom-designed one bold, dark accent wallcovering to anchor the room, drawing the eye directly to the bed. The headboard piece is a plush continuous leather piece that provides contrast to the feature wallcovering. The carpet plays with blue and tan hues, mimicking the colors of the riverbed.
